SUMMER, SHOW & SHINE - 11th August 2018
A turn out of 54 cars attended our clubs annual event this year held at Warwick Castle. An array of XKs and F-Types were all present, along with some superb weather and endless attraction from visitors to the castle. Well done to all the trophy winners and many thanks to our trophy sponsor Jim McLean of Compressortech
Members gathered together for the latest Southern Area Regional Breakfast Meet at the Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit in Sussex. Great food and company and reserved tables upstairs for club members.
Members were given the opportunity to go on a visit to the Jaguar Factory at Castle Bromwich in Birmingham on Wednesday 20th September 2017 for a very informative and enjoyable tour of the F-Type Production Line. A great day out was had by all and everyone enjoyed the exclusive insight into witnessing first hand the entire production process from sheet metal to finished car.
A superb turnout of members during our visit to Sandringham in Norfolk, the much-loved country retreat of Her Majesty The Queen. The house, set in 24 hectares of stunning gardens, is perhaps the most famous stately home in Norfolk and is at the heart of the 8,000-hectare Sandringham Estate. Here members enjoyed a visit to the house and a superb picnic in the park grounds.
A nice turnout of 107 cars attended our ninth annual Summer, Show & Shine event at Arundel Castle on Saturday 12th August 2017. A variety of F-Type's. XK's and also other Jaguars and special displays were present and the weather stayed lovely as well. The club was also pleased to raise £518 on the day for the Children with Cancer, UK charity. Many thanks to everyone who attended the show and who also donated towards our chosen charity.
On Saturday 2nd July 2017 some of our members attended the Baston Car and Bike Show in Lincolnshire. With a rich automotive history, the car and bike show mixes the old with the new. It's now the largest show in the area and a must-do event for anyone interested in cars & bikes.
On Saturday 24th June 2017 we held our clubs first ever Open Day & Charity Event at our club HQ in Northfleet, Kent. Twenty-five cars attended the event. The day gave members the opportunity to look around the office and its surroundings and to enjoy a great family day out meeting other members and their cars. More importantly the whole day helped raise charity money for the Darent Valley Cancer Fighting Fund.
With food and drink laid on all day as well as club merchandise on show and a number of other craft stands selling items such as jewellery, handbags, scarves, framed prints etc there was lots to see and do.
Although money is still coming it appears we have raised somewhere around £1,800 for the charity so a big thank you to everyone who came along and supported this event.
A special thanks goes out to all the companies who kindly donated some great prizes for the on-line auction and our raffle and to our Guest Speaker Peter Leake who gave a couple of superb presentations on the Jaguar Le Mans racing years. Thanks also to THE EAST KENT CHORUS QUARTET, a local group who sing in the Barbershop style who provided some very joyful afternoon entertainment.
Congratulations to all those who attended this NEW breakfast meet on Saturday 3rd June 2017 at The Old Control Tower Cafe within the Goodwood Race Circuit complex near Chichester in West Sussex. This new meet will alternate each month with another NEW breakfast meet at The Hangar Cafe at Fairoaks Airport near Chobham in Surrey.
